Sandra Lai
Technologist
Area of interest:
After graduating in Biological Sciences, Sandra initially worked at the Microcitemico Hospital at the Human Genome Laboratory, directed by Doctor Giuseppe Pilia. In August 2001, she moved to Lanusei to work at the ProgeNIA Center.
During her career, she has been involved in DNA extraction, biochemical blood analysis, and the separation and lymphocyte immortalization of lymphoblastoid cell lines starting from the blood of participants in the ProgeNIA study. Furthermore, she has contributed significantly to the genotyping of DNA samples, using the Affymetrix platform. In recent years, Sandra’s main area of interest has been immunology. She has contributed to the characterization of the immunological profile of study participants through the determination of lymphocyte immunophenotypic subpopulations using the flow cytometry technique. She has also worked on quantifying soluble molecules in serum and liquor using ELISA immunoenzymatic tests.
